All openings at Laurelwood Preschool for the 2009-10 school year are currently filled. However, because of early registration, we do anticipate openings in both the Early Childhood (EC) and Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) programs during the next 6 months. Please see the Wait List section.

If you would like your name placed on our waiting list, which is maintained and used to fill classes through January of 2010, please submit the following information to [email protected]:

If an opening becomes available for your child we will contact you using the phone number and/or email you submit. You will have 24 hours to notify the registrar that you are still interested in a position at Laurelwood Preschool before we move to the next family on the waiting list. At that time you must have your enrollment forms (available from this web site beginning March 2, 2009) completed and ready to submit with a new check to guarantee your spot. We suggest you prepare these forms now if you are serious about enrolling your child in Laurelwood Preschool. Please note that all children attending our preschool must be toilet trained.

Registration for the 2009/2010 School Year

Eligibility

• Age
  Verification of age by birth certificate will be required.
  Early Childhood (Tuesday/Thursday): Child must be three by December 2, 2009.
  Pre-Kindergarten (Monday/Wednesday/Friday): Child must be four by December 2, 2009.
• Toilet Training
  All children must be toilet trained prior to entrance into the school.

• Once you have been contacted by the registrar that a spot has become available for your child, you will be instructed to complete the registration form and volunteer form (either download or obtain from the preschool class or Laurelwood Elementary School office)
• Write a check for your first month's tuition plus the $65 registration fee (payable to Laurelwood Preschool)

The tuition payment made at the time of registration is applied to your September tuition and will be refunded only if the registrar is notified by July 31, 2009 of your plans to drop from the preschool.  There will be no exception.

Classroom Observations
Prospective members are encouraged to observe the classrooms (without their children) during school hours through the end of May by scheduling an appointment with the Membership Chairperson, Kelly Barirani.  Please call Kelly at 871-6958 to schedule a time. Appointments are required.

Placement
Laurelwood Preschool attempts to place children in the class time with the teacher of their first choice. However, when the demand does not allow this, the school reserves the right to place a child in any class with openings. This applies to priority registration, pre-registration and open registration.

 

Enrollment

Enrollment Forms
Upon acceptance into Laurelwood Preschool you will be required to download, complete, and mail-in all required preschool forms by May 20, 2009.  This includes physical and immunization forms for your student and a negative TB test for all adults who will be working in the classroom on your assigned days.

Tuition for the 2009/2010 School Year
Early Childhood Program: $100 per month
Pre-Kindergarten Program: $130 per month
Registration fee per student: $65
Cleaning Deposit: $30 (collected Sept. 1st and refunded after Cleaning Day participation in May/June)

In order to keep our tuition affordable, we encourage each family to participate in our fundraisers and/or make a tax-deductible donation in the amount of one month's tuition to the preschool. Donations are accepted any time. 100% of the money collected is returned to the classrooms.

Tuesday, September 8 - Early Childhood Mandatory Parents Meeting for all adults who will work in the classroom
Wednesday, September 9 - Pre-K Mandatory Parents Meeting for all adults who will work in the classroom
Thursday, September 10 - Early Childhood first day of school (Please note that the first day is only 1 hour)
Friday, September 11 - Pre-K first day of school (Please note that the first day is 1 and ½ hour only)
